Deep green galleries contrast creamy classical busts. But is it a whitewash?

STUDIO NvS recently visited Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen where ancient Greek urns are displayed in their original polychromatic glory. Jarring to our minds, trained to appreciate the form, texture and shadow-play of classical sculpture, we are compelled to reconsider both the aesthetic and the cultural context of the art form.
